The one statistic they use to say "women play games too" are that more adult women play games than teen boys.

I find this hilarious as that was probably the only way to skew the statistics to show a majority of girls. 13-18 year old boys are less numerous than 18-99 year old women when it comes to games? WOW, women play games too!

It's a shame really. I liked the way it was going, showing that the industry changed because of historical events, and that there are now plenty of games a woman could enjoy if she so chose to.

The most popular online games nowadays are competetive ones, and I suspect that this kind of game is less interesting to women than men. However, there are amazing games out there, that I definitely don't think appeal to one sex over the other. (Example: Ori and the Blind Forest)

The whole "Games are games" thing is just fucking heresy. He calls games the newest modern artform, then says all games are equally to be judged as games? Bitch please, Candy Crush and the likes are psychologically manipulative skinner boxes made to make you pay as much as possible for as little actual content as possible. They are fucking attrocities to actual games that challenge you and make you feel, think, experience and reflect. It's like saying a blogpost and Shakespeare is equally literature, because both require the act of reading.

This video hits a pet peeve of mine: Game literacy. It's blatantly obvious that noone in the making of this video, has a clue on games. They equate mechanics/medium with content to a degree. It's infuriating. If people were a bit more literate on games, they would know for fact that Candy Crush and other phone-games are as much games as a turd on the floor in a museum is art. People might claim it is so, but it is nevertheless quite literally the exemplification of everything one could do wrong with such a powerful medium of expression.

Sorry about the off-topic rant. However I feel like game literacy being so low, and males representing most gamers by and large, leads to misconceptions about males, which leads to a lot of bullshit, as many of you here on MGTOW probably knows.

TL;DR: There's plenty of games women can enjoy in newer time, probably no real untapped market there. This video among others, are a great example of how misunderstood games are. "Games are games", what a joke.
