Unpopular opinion here, but I’ll say it anyways. I do think love exists - just not the “love” that people believe exists. Real love isn’t just about a feeling. The feeling is just chemicals pulling you together. Love is respecting someone to a degree that would make it impossible for you to let that person get hurt.

The only reason I believe this is because I have an ex-girlfriend who I know truly loved me. She loved me when I literally had nothing, and did everything she could to take care of me when I was broken. She was beautiful, not a whore, extremely down to earth, and most importantly, respected me for who I was.

So yeah, I do think it exists, just not the way Disney has made it out to be.

Love is a bonding chemical. Oxytocin is one of them. Love is a romanticized idea of the biological behavior designed to keep people together for the betterment of society. Humans have evolved as much as we have due to our ingenuity and the fathers role in raising the offspring. A man’s effort to support family and raise his children has profound impacts on society. So love is required to force this necessary good down everyone’s throat.

The very notion of seeking perfection is childish. Look at the population on the planet. Let’s assume that you’re pretty average. I would say a soul mate is stupid. There’s likely millions of people who would make a quality mate IF the laws and culture FORCED certain behaviors on everyone.

It’s easy to get along when there are constraints forcing you to play nice and severely punishing bad behavior. Freedom unravels society because people who just how monstrous they can be when left unchecked.

Conclusion: you’re over complicating it. All that’s required is sexual interest which is easy enough if both aren’t horribly ugly or overweight. The rest is merely enough similarities to enjoy each other’s company and some agent to enforce good behavior and punish bad behavior.

Everyone would stay married for a lifetime if we enforced every aspect of married life and seeking to divorce someone was met with the death penalty.

Men love by doing, guiding, teaching, leading, healing, and administrating. With a heart and mind set on a specific conscious purpose and goal.

Women just are. Their love in unconscious and doesn’t have an intentional meaning. It’s a biological product.

love is something YOU feel. others might feel love towards you, they might not... women can't love like a man can. you could love a tree, a song, a rock, a car, your kids, anything really. most of what falling in love is, are two people who have matching subconscious wounds from childhood. you are subconsciously attracted to them specifically because at some level you know they are perfect for dragging up old wounds and bringing them fresh to the table to reignite the pain so you can acknowledge it consciously, heal and move forward. matching wounds means a perfect match made in hell. ever hear people say their wife or husband reminds them of their parents? that's why. so be aware you don't get into shit because of your subconscious, repressed issues. guys might say this is non-sense, but really, there are plenty of examples to learn from other people's mistakes.

Everything is in the constant state of change. Nothing remains the same. How you feel right now is not how you will feel an hour from now, tomorrow, next week. Love is a feeling, like everything, it will change, it will come and it will go. If you try to hang on to it, you will only suffer. It is like holding on to a sunny day, if you spend the day trying to keep it from passing or worrying about its end, you will not enjoy it. Then you will regret wasting it, and in your regret you will waste more time. You only have now, this moment, learn to live right now and enjoy it. Have NO expectations. Do not crave what you don't have, enjoy what you do have. Craving is the number one cause of suffering and a waste of time, a waste of now, and now is all we have.
