60: 40. Men are an uneducated labor class.

Also called slave labour

I can only talk about my country but i assume a lot of other European countries share similar requirements for entrance into a university. In Finland you usually do an entrance exam and have to score a certain amount of points to be admitted. So there is no preferential treatment for either sex. Get enough points - get in. Fail to get enough points - try again next year.
Just wanted to clarify that before the misogyny starts rolling in from Americans that might not have knowledge on the subject of European universities and their entrance requirements.

In America, if white males score higher, the exam is biased.

I thought the American system didn't have entrance exams and instead it goes along the lines of; if your last name is Van der bilt it doesn't matter if you're a man, a woman, a dog, here's your free pass to an ivy league school of your choosing. I could be wrong of course.
[–]Patong_Pirate2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Didn't work that way for me. They looked at my high school ranking and SAT score.
[–]Kekkkkkkk2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Best way to get into ivy league is being a non-whire BLM-supporter sjw feminist transgender! You can show it in your application essay.
Also, being Jewish is a huge positive point. (70% of whites in Upenn are Jewish)
So everything is against white males. I don't know where the fuck you heard that

It is the same in the UK. However, if you try and make young boys 'sit still' for hours at a time, droning on at them...what do people expect? Young boys don't learn well like that for the most part.
Of course, if they do dare show any personality or energy, just shove some barely understood hardcore psychotropic drugs down their wee throats, that'll solve the problem...
[–]finnish900 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Depends, how young are we talking? 13 year olds - sure I'm with you there, however the exams you take at 13 have zero influence on your acceptance to a university. Some countries probably do have cultures skewed towards shoving ADD meds down every male childs throat which is an issue - however i can speak for Finland that it isn't an issue here.
In the end I was only talking about Finlands 60-40 split here anyhow, I'm sure there is a different set of variables that go into it with every country.

I'm not sure when you take your first exams in Finland.
In the UK we take SATS at around 10, these will in large part determine what secondary school you are able to attend. Don't get me wrong, you will usually get a place in the your local 'comprehensive' school (state-run), but if you want to actually get a decent education, you need good SAT scores. The comprehensive system in the UK generally provides a very poor standard of education, and also a very poor standard of discipline and general life-skills.
We then take another further set of examinations (GCSE), at 15. These will determine if you can stay in school for your A-Levels, and which A-Levels you can do if you do stay. Sorry if you know this already dude :). Then onto University etc.
So in the UK we are expecting young boys, to sit down, shut up, learn by rote...and then we hit them with their first meaningful, impacting examinations...at 10. Now I'm not sure if that is fair on either girls or boys really, it is far too young. You end up with parents who wish for their children to go to a school outside the comprehensive system berating 10 year old kids into constant study (happened to me, though I appreciate it now).
In terms of ADD's, it isn't as prevalent in the UK as it seems to be in the US, but we have a school system basically designed to break the will of any young boy who exhibits normal and healthy behaviour...like having energy and being curious, physical etc.
I'm not sure many girls benefit from it either...kids aren't meant to sit around in class-rooms staring at blackboards, that's just my opinion on the matter.

It isn't really biased towards anyone. Has nothing to do with what you've learned in high school, you have entirely new material/a bunch of books to learn on the topic and the exam will be based merely on those. For example; the entrance exam for our law school this year was based on three books - civil law, european union law, corporate law. The required books change annually.

Memorization to an extent, not a massive amount of rote learning. And the fact is; becoming a lawyer and performing well in that role requires both. In fact being good at anything academy related requires memorization to an extent. If you're massively talented in mathematical subjects that might be the only exception and even then there is memorization involved.
I'll concede the argument that when 13 year olds study for a test women have a definite advantage but when you're an adult it's on you, not on your gender to study for an exam. I know hundreds of people who go to universities and my observation would without a shadow of a doubt be that in general whoever studied the most scored the highest points and got accepted (except for a few exceptions). Claiming anything else is a cop out. Also like i said the fact a lot of men rotate towards manual labour already makes this disparity imminent even before anyone takes a university entrance exam.

What would be a level playing field in terms of university entrance? And aren't there jobs/positions that require you to pass a physical test of some kind that are way more biased in favor of men than university admission is for women? It's all about choices. A woman can become a fireman and a man can get a masters degree in pedagogy. And truthfully for lack of a better system i much prefer my doctor to be the one that knows the book inside out.
Also, while i understand your point and there are studies to support the claim that women have a slight advantage when it comes to memorization, i still find it so marginal according to my experiences that i won't consider it anything other than a cop out, especially for lack of any even remotely equally good options in terms of admission requirements. Men dominate the fields where men generally tend to have more interest in and vice versa. Take for example Business school <---> Med school..

Coding is an easy thing to put to a practical test, I believe some schools already use a practical exam when it comes to some coding programs' entrance exams. When it comes to law school the test requires memorization yes, however the test is about putting those books you read into as practical a use as you possibly can (which is essentially what you will do as a lawyer); you are presented with cases from different schools of law and you will have to write down how to solve them - what to take into account, why & the conclusions. How you could possibly get a more practical application into a law school entrance exam is beyond me. Everyone should be brought to a court and argue their case in front of an actual judge & jury? Gee whiz, if only we had infinite time and billions of dollars to put into entrance exams annually.
Again, I don't know how different countries handle say law school entrance exams, but that's how it's done here. If you would be kind enough to tell me how that could possibly be made into a more practical solution I would be beyond excited to hear that. Worth noting at this point that women dominate the numbers of people entering law schools.
Another area dominated by women these days, med school. Haven't personally taken the med school entrance exam but having viewed it a couple of times online out of sheer curiosity it seems to consist mainly of solving medical cases in the same fashion as i just explained the law school -example, as well as doing some physics/chemistry/mathematics -calculations. Basically that means only a tiny fraction is about rote learning. I suppose in an ideal world we would have all thousands of them do surgery on actual people to bring it to an even more practical a scenario.

Norway here.
Gender points are automatically awarded girls who enter into competition for courses that are "historically skewed" towards men.
That means if you want to study engineering, a girl with poorer high school grades can out-compete you for a place at college or university.
Before gender points (formerly called female points), girls have a different experience of school. Different standards apply for PE, mandatory in Norway, making it relatively more easy for girls to grade well.
Over-representation of women in the education sector make the experience biased against boys from pre-school, primary school to secondary school. The consequences are that more women are going to university and this leads to the decreased productivity and competitiveness of our nation's economy and the decline in well being of men.

Sorry to hear that norway has adopted such gender based "affirmative action" policies, would've expected your system to be similar to the Finnish one.

It's been law since the 70s. Our country has been fully indoctrinated to think equality means gender balance. It's too late for Norway.
Feminists here can't see the irony.
Well i mean at least the destruction isn't really imminent in any near future, considering the GDP and the sovereign wealth fund under statoil. Cheer up.

Ireland has done pretty well to avoid SJWs until now. But it's all coming at once. Gender pronouns being banned, tranny toilets being implemented and male students being forced to attend mandatory consent classes. Oh, and if you're against abortion or anything of that ilk, you better keep your mouth shut. So glad I got out of college before all this shit started.
