I had a kid the old fashioned way: through a marriage. But I got to tell you, I would never adopt a kid because you just never know what kind of genetic clusterfuck you are going to have to deal with. It's not the kid's fault either. It's the two dip shit parents who cannot take care of their kid and who cannot be responsible people. As such, their kid will inherent those same loser genetics.

Yup.
If you're a single (hetero) guy -- even more so if (ironically*) you are also financially secure -- they will throw every possible "roadblock" in your way... the goal is to frustrate the hell out of you and get you to simply walk away from the system (which you will).
IOW Don't waste your time.
The Foster Care system is a way of channeling kids (and money/resources) to impoverished single moms, etc.
* Why especially if you are financially secure? Because they lose their "lever of control" (finances) and you are also a threat (learning of what has all happened TO the {your} foster child while they were in the system prior to coming to you -- and thus possibly bringing independent LEGAL scrutiny & actions against them, against them personally & individually that is {many "foster care" staff and families are committing criminal abuse against children on a regular basis -- so long as THEY are the ones "investigating" then nothing happens, and obviously they want to keep it that way}).
