TL;DR- dog more upset about another dog dying than wife

Had to put the dog belonging to my wife down earlier this year, a beautiful yellow lab. She had this dog for 10 years and she was the sweetest, most kind creature on earth (the dog of course).

Fast forward 4 months and I still get sad when I see pictures of her in my house. My other dog, seems like he is in a deep depression and just looks sad as hell as he mopes around all day. He naturally looks a little sad anyway because of his breed (Irish Wolfhound) but he is noticeably still upset and disturbed by the labs absence. The kids still get sad and cry when we talk about it, and sometimes randomly cry. She was truly a special dog.

As for the wife, you can barely tell anything happened to her, she's completely fine and it's like nothing ever happened at all. At least my large dog, the kids and myself loved her like the family member she was.
