This is an incredible example of the "energy-free activism" Barbarossa mentions in one of his videos. MRAs fail to realize that society will never care about suffering men, so appealing to empathy in order to reform anti-male laws will always be a losing strategy. A far more effective strategy is to simply opt out of aspects of the traditional male gender role that disadvantage men, because only then will people take notice.

We're seeing the consequences of this with tradcons suddenly urging men to marry. Sermonizing about misandry wasn't nearly as effective as men and women delaying marriage en masse in getting tradcons to at least pretend to care about men's well-being.

You see the same thing with college tribunals not giving men accused of sexual assault a fair hearing. It's not fundraisers and petitions that are making a difference. It's these men hiring lawyers and suing the schools.

And this guy, instead of wasting energy on counseling or fights or protesting divorce laws, decides to ... do nothing. And simply doing nothing puts all the cards in his hands. He owns no assets and doesn't work so he can't be destroyed in divorce. His wife requires a caretaker for their child so she can't falsely accuse him of rape or domestic violence. By opting out he gets the benefits of the female gender role while she groans under all the burdens of the male gender role.

This is how change will be effected: not with picketing and protesting and activism (though that does have its place), but with men recognizing a raw deal and either gaming the system or opting out.

It seems to make sense. If you see trouble in your marriage, quit your career. Quitting your career actually preserves your marriage, and if there is a divorce, it takes less out of you.
