Hey everyone, been a long-time reader here, but have to use a throwaway account for reasons below:

  • In May/June 2017, I (26/M) went on 2 dates with a girl (26/F) I used to know in college: 1) restaurant and 2) movies (where we kissed/made out). After I told her I just wanted to be friends, she harassed me and threatened to commit suicide multiple times. She told me she has a history of suicide attempts, depression, and taking medication. The last time I saw her was in June 2017 on the second date.

  • Out of (likely naive and nice guy) guilt, I had to talk her off the ledge every time she threatened suicide. We agreed to be friends and kept it as that. She continued to threaten suicide when I ignored her or didn't reply to her messages. I finally blocked her phone number and social media in early March 2018.

  • Two weeks ago, her family called me and told me she disappeared from home (she still lives with them), leaving a note with my name and phone number. They were panicked and went to the police to report her missing. I genuinely didn't know her whereabouts.

  • The day after, she sent me a text; I then assumed that she was okay and safe. After her mom left a voicemail asking to know what was going on, I texted her a summary, explaining the entire situation and that her daughter's behavior made me very uncomfortable. I urged her to get her daughter medical attention, mentioned considering obtaining a restraining order against her daughter, and that I'm moving on with my life. Her mother never replied to my text, so I assumed she talked to her daughter and the ordeal was finally over.

  • I thought I was in the clear until I saw her recent public Tumblr post (which was posted a few days after the text I sent her mother), in which she alleged I molested and used her. She directly hash-tagged my social media username, high school, and college. In a Google search, her blog post is the only result that shows up when you search #[my social media username].

Is there anything I can do beyond speaking to my lawyer this week? I live in NJ, she lives in NYC, we went on the dates in NYC. She may have some basis (we made out, hands all over each other on the 2nd date).

I feel as if she will only escalate (e.g. how she left that suicide note and went missing) and I genuinely fear for my safety, livelihood, and family. She is somehow aware of where I live (not the exact address).

NOTE: We never had sex. We only had phone sex; she sent nudes after every time I ignored her. I haven't talked to her ever since I blocked her.
