#1 I don't see anything happening, other than are standard regional brush fires to keep the contracts flowing.

We're always involved in war. The only way some war would start would be if North Korea launched something, like an asshole, and then we carpet bombed the area back to the stone ages. Or not. No one else in the region would want to do shit since China, India, and Pakistan are all nuclear. Including Russia. No one wants that sort of situation.

I don't see a WW3 scenario like in the movies. It's been going on anyway for 70 years anyway all over the world as the "cold" war, but its been a non-stop war.

#2 It'll keep getting like its been. There will be a pendulum swing of TradCon shit going on, that's already happening and why Trump won. Most likely he won't get a second term, as the marxists have kept the media going, but it defends how pathetic a candidate they run in the next election. The midterm elections will give a good indicator as to what the country in general thinks.

There won't be a civil war. That won't happen because of Trump. Progressives aren't really motivated to secede because progressives are all about the imperial federal government. They don't have the balls to make it on their own, that's why they take over other pre-existing systems. They create nothing on their own. Their politics are parasitic.

If some super marxist got into power, then barring an impeachment or outright mutiny by the military, not a whole lot would happen. Presidents have far less power than people think, or the media likes to make up. They have some specific powers, but not a whole lot. They're basically a figurehead of the executive branch which runs just fine without presidential authority. No matter who's elected, all part of the executive branch can stall for 8 years easily.

I mean, these are professional procrastinators that don't do anything useful anyway.

Also, no one's going to revolt, that my stop the checks from coming in. And they live for those government checks.

#3 I'll be happy to defend the realm if Charlie is marching down 42nd street, but I'm not going anywhere to defend anything. This isn't my fight. I'm sure as fuck not dying for people sitting in air conditioning getting paid more for every day I'm getting shot at. I don't see any draft happening, because we don't invade with 10 million member armies. That's horribly inefficient, not when we have technological advantages over everyone. No one fights set piece symmetrical wars any more.

#4 I am a prepper, in the sense that I travel a lot and live where evacuations and natural disasters occur every year. My travel bag, is basically by 96 hour bug out bag and just grab and go when I want to travel. It's always loaded with 96 hours worth of food, clothing, medical, technology, communications, medications, wealth, etc. It's always available. Want to go to Vegas? Grab and go. Go on a casual social visit with some girl? One second, let me grab and go. I have my passport, brick of cash, gold, first aid, bitcoin keys, anything I need to go world wide at a moments notice. Last I checked it weighed in at 24.9 lbs.

Not because i think zombies will come get me, it just makes it easy to merge those two things together. I don't need all that shit on a day trip, but I take it anyway, because you never know when things go down or an evacuation is called.

I recommend it, because you get used to living with minimalism, you're constantly prepared from everything from power outages, to global communications, to meds you might need, to snacks, to first aid, cash, whatever.

Power out for an extended reason? Stores still take cash, the ATM and credit cards aren't going to work, but cash is king. Extended power outages will eventually burn out cell towers even with their battery backups, so I have handheld HAM tech with packet radio if needed. Car gets stuck in the snow? I have days of food. Someone spills a milkshake on me? I have fresh clothes. Get a headache? I have pills for that. Feel nauseous or have an allergic reaction? Got that covered. Someone offers me a kilo of pure Colombian marching power (street value where I am of $25k) for the low low price of $2000? Maybe I'll pick it up and flip it. Buddy needs a smoke who's driving me to the marina? I got that despite not being a smoker.

The point being, be prepared for all sorts of eventualities. Most things double up for other things. You don't want to be the last asshole looking for batteries when the power is out.

Prepping is good for everyone, not just people who fear war conspiracy. If you live in California, prep for earthquakes, Florida, prep for hurricanes and sink holes, North Dakota, blizzards and tornadoes, nothing wrong with that.

Pretty much everything you would have on a camping trip... Get a boy scout manual, quite a few good tips for city folk in them.

Its more likely to be a regional (not global) conflict. If there is a major war, it will probably happen in the middle east. Iran and syria are backed by china and russia, respectively. Any conflict there is likely to spiral out of control and see america and NATO pitted against everyone else. The war is likely to be a stalemate as neither side can successfully invade each other.

Also important is that china and russia are hoarding precious metals. Gold and silver are heavily undervalued at this point in time, and if there are ever any economic upheavels, they will become richer and stronger. The standard of living in the west is likely to decline due to stupid policys, not least of which is 3rd world immigration.

If there is ww3 against Russia there's a very high probability you will die if you live in an urban area. You can kick the death can down the road somewhat by living far FAR away from any major urban area, but you'll still die from fallout, all the water supplies will be filled with fallout toxins. Prep to your hearts content, it will help you last a little longer but the best prep you can do is learn to face and accept your mortality.

I don't believe that we are approaching WWIII, but there are serious existential threats: climate change, antibiotic resistance, and a nuclear strike. The third we have actually been frightening close to many times mostly due to technical errors of misidentifying something as a missile strike. If nuclear annihilation does happen I think that it will happen because of human error, not because of a war.

Yes. I used to be friends with some people "in the know" who always told me to look for Syria to be the birthing ground of WW3. It's location has made it a hub for many competing interests, from oil to military bases. The drumbeat of war in that part of the world has only gotten louder in the last few months, and has placed the United States and Russia in direct conflict over a manufactured crisis. If we are opposed to "ISIL" then we need to assisting Assad and Russia because ISIL is who is fighting against Assad there. U.S. foreign policy seems to be that we want control of Syria and are willing to allow ISIL to fight Assad while we fight Russia for it. That's just dumb. We tried the same thing in Afghanistan after the Soviets invaded in 1979. It gave us the Mujahadeen which ended up becoming the Taliban and assisted in the creation of Al-Qaeda. I think WW3 will be split among the following factions: The United States, Japan, Israel and England will form one axis. The EU (I think Scotland will secede from the UK and be an EU nationality) will try to stay out of it initially but will have to create a standing army when they get sucked into it. Hard to say who they would side with, and may even form their own third faction. Russia will team up with China and Iran and possibly North Korea. China has excess male population and North Korea has been prepping to fight the United States again since the 1950's. Iran has a direct stake in the stability of Syria as does Israel. Russia has a military base there as well. I have no idea who will win.
I absolutely believe there will be a civil war in the United States in the next 50 years. You can see the political battle lines forming now. The old "left vs right" paradigm is changing into a "totaliatarian/socialist/globalist/ vs libertarian/hard-capitalist/nationalist" paradigm. Those two visions cannot coexist in the same society. The nationalists will fight to remain free in the name of patriotism. The globalists will fight because they think it's the ultimate destiny of humanity. There will be successions and bloodshed. Things will probably be so bad that the UN will have to step in to stop things, but that action would mean that the globalists had ultimately won because then they would be an occupying force.
If WW3 happens before the civil war, learn all you can and fight like your life depended on it. You could try to do like they did in the Vietnam war and burn the draft cards, but with today's technology, if there were a general draft, they'd find you if you weren't completely off the grid. If there's a civil war first, there won't likely be a draft, and the U.S. Military would very likely be on the nationalist side (I live in an Army town and I can tell you that those guys are WAY more conservative that the general population), so it would something like a guerrilla insurgency scenario, where the military was out in the open but the globalists would be using Antifa style black ops and terrorist tactics.
You can prep for some of this, but the basic well stocked nuclear bomb shelter is a great way to go if you can afford it. Personally, I'm not going to prep. I'm old, have no children and zero investment in the world beyond what it takes for me to eat and have a roof over my head. If I die, I'm not losing much. To each their own on that one.

The migrant crisis in European countries isn't even near the amount of chaos it will be right now, as more keep coming in, they will legally vote each other into power. Once they accomplish this, they will begin "legal" genocide against the natives because their backwards religion says they should and at the same time with have control over air forces, militaries, and possibly nuclear material. In the future I expect to see endless amounts of civilized folk fleeing to real countries like USA, Japan, and Canada while the people they're fleeing from will be trying to start WWIII. No. Everyone knows it would be the end of the world. Einstein correctly said "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones".

Regional conflicts and proxy wars (see Syria) will continue with Russia and probably China, but nothing major. Russia will also continue to make land grabs and unattributed attacks (recent cyber attacks, Crimea, Georgia) against former Soviet states because it can as long as a hardcore Soviet nationalist is in power. The middle east will turn on itself in the next ten years as temperatures (political and environmental) reach breaking points (see Qatar). Medium term (20-50 years), climate change will drive resource conflicts, receding shorelines, and other instability.
The US will continue to limp along, becoming more dysfunctional as time goes on. Civil war and/or secession are a long ways off if they ever happen, but there's going to be a lot more political, racist, and sexist conflict because of the way our society works.

The middle class will all but disappear in a few decades thanks to automation. Autonomous vehicles will be the first driving force and the largest now-unemployed demographic with many being too old or unskilled to retrain into other industry. Universal income and welfare will have to be instituted or widespread poverty and civil unrest will consume the nation.
It will never happen. If by some cosmic fuck up it does, serve and stay in. Try to get a administrative or technical job and you won't see combat. A government job, military included, will be one of the only secure jobs to be had in the not too distant future.
Not a prepper. If the fecal matter hits the rotary air impeller, I figure things are too far gone to even want to stick around. As an atheist, I don't fear death because when I'm gone, I won't be around to regret not being around any more.

If you're so inclined to take your chances in your shiny new apocalypse beans and bullets are your best bet. Gold and silver mean fuck-all when society collapses. Firearms and food ensure you will be able to live, procure, and trade.

There will be a massive, unprecedented die-off in the future. It is simply demanded by our financial system. The same financial system that depopulated the city rome, triggered the second world war etc.

Fiat currencies always end nastily. The longer it takes to end, the more lives will be lost.

I estimate sometime in the next 30 years.
