EDC: Lighter. Butane torch. Bandages. Lip balm. Gum. Cleaning rags/handkerchiefs. Pens. Wallet. Keys.

My bug out bag has a bunch of other stuff like rope, hiking boots, sandals lol, etc.

This was a good post. Reading DangZagnut's list I think I need to add more gear to my bag.

I have the usual keys, wallet, phone, smokes. But I carry hand tools, a butane soldering torch, a BoB with 72 hours of everything for fire, water, food, shealter, first aid and defense. In my vehicle, I carry a couple of other bags with more food, clothes, toiletries, a trauma bag, lots of tools, a tent, a sleeping bag, water purifacation, a couple of axes, an entrenching tool, iodine tablets, a gas mask with extea cartridges, 2 solar panels and a couple of triband portable radios for instant short range comms and weather/emergency info.

When I can, my main carry weapons are usually a couple of good knives and a .38/.357Mag wheel gun and a couple boxes of .38. It's the most reliable and safest carry firearm you can use, really.

If I can't survive on that, it's my own fault.

I can’t carry much anymore as I’m back on land in the UK and at a university doing a top up.

I could easily survive out of my car though with the contents of the box in the boot. Tools, knives, water, clothes, hiking gear etc.

On ship I’ve normally got a flashlight, shifter, 2 knives, pen/paper and a troubleshooting guide for any machinery I’m unfamiliar with.

My EDC has been literally the exact same for years. Wallet, phone, keys, inhaler. And the clothes on my back.

My phone is something I paid 40 dollars for years ago and pay 25 dollars per month for just talk and text. Really it's only to keep in contact with my family. Inhaler, obviously, to live. I don't have a car so I don't have to worry about any of that stuff.

learned a lot in this thread, and here's why.

my BoB (just learned is bug-out-bag) consisted of the following:

-1 pair of pants (it's only one, not actually 2).

-1 6pack of water, that I drink until I'm at 0,

-1 spare set of corrective glasses (ebay specials)

-yup, that's it... I was considering a spare set of socks b/c my feet got wet a few days ago, but thought against it b/c my shoes also got wet, so I figured if my shoes are going to be wet, my new dry won't be dry for long anyways. When I then went out and got a new pair of shoes (yeah me!).

so, ok. now I will consider a proper safety bag b/c it's a good idea, and I like good ideas.

Pepper spray, phone, keys, two wallets (one fake, one real for mugging situations) and earbuds

in my vehicle i carry a charger, water, medical supplies, a window breaker/seatbelt cutter, car manual and tools to change tires more effortlessly if needed

Money clip, handkerchief, and keys go in my pocket.

Phone (burner and smart), earbuds, Swiss Army multi-tool, a small Bic lighter, two pens, a small wire spine notebook, wet wipes, pocket tissue, a small bottle of rubbing alcohol, TicTacs, and sunglasses go in the small slash-proof sling bag.

I would prefer bringing a balisong with me, but they’re illegal to carry where I’m from.
