I have to give my ex credit on this one. She got some letter in the mail once and threw it in the trash, "I don't want to go to your fucking lunches. God damn".

"It's the Society for Women Engineers. They suck."

One of her more impressive moments, she responded, "All the Society of Women Engineers do is bitch about how the men don't include them, so they have a lunch once a month - where no men are allowed - and then they bitch about how men don't want to include them. It's hypocritical, self-defeating and I don't want any part of it"

I'm a programmer / developer. Started at 9 years old. Sacrificed countless days and nights, months and years examining and exploring all kinds of shit relating to programming, hardware, operating systems, hacking. I know (like most geeks) too many languages some of which I've even forgotten. I'm one of those framework haters, because I know what life was like without them.

I've seen my trade comprised of geeks and truly passionate people to "Oh a career in IT sounds like a good idea and easy money". I've seen the face of IT go from being dorky and neckbearded to being all sleek and hipsterish. The type of people who used to study BComs or end up as accountants, bankers, even fucking salesmen invade the face of IT. Before people associated introverts with the trade, now anyone and his dog and the flea that rode on the dog seems to be involved in IT.

So yes I'm a little concerned. I know for a fact just by looking at that women she didn't jump through even 1/10ths of the hoops I've jumped through. Didn't put in a fraction of the work, does not care for or understand the evolution of the whole thing. Yet has the arrogance and attitude to sit there talking shit.

I work with women too in this field. And have in the past. Now some I work with are just fine.

One however my previous boss roped me in on a project that she did no actual due diligence on at the same time wanted everything done her way. This meant that because she didn't have the actual experience the project I was working on was unfeasible. This meant that after a year the top dogs noticed, in one foul swoop put an end to my project, nearly leaving me out of work. Instead I was begrudgingly incorporated into a team of cunts who she worked with too. White knight, blue pilled total cunts. So now this ex manager of mine has a baby. Goes off on maternity leave, but instead of being respectful about it. We used to work remotely, decides to bring her baby in on these skype calls (not a fucking care in the world to mute her mic) - While every time this baby interrupted, these blue pill cucks made a joke about it. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. Since she was on maternity leave, she should not have been working anyways - Since she was claiming benefits (making it illegal). So wtf, that when the company arranged a meetup (which was about 8 hours drive time away). She made plans to go. Taking her fucking baby with. I didn't go, but who the fuck wants to be programming and being exposed to a baby, and having to be all nice and sweet about it. You know fuck that shit, the day I resigned from that company was the best day of my life in recent memory.

As for the post and the scores of soccer Moms in IT now, deal with it.

A while back I was reading through a thread that was from a story about the importance of networking in the startup / tech industry. I couldn't believe it when a number of women started to claim that networking professionally was only hard for women. Also, after working in Silicon Valley, the entitlement and warped understanding of reality is astounding.

Same old story.... I had a female friend, certified in her trade who was required to interact with customers on a daily basis. She made a good living, supported her child and her live in "artist" (read "unemployed") boyfriend. She was a brat when I knew her years ago, and still is.

After several documented conversations, her employer's HR rep had a meeting with her telling her they loved her work, but they need her to "just be a little nicer to customers" or the would let her go in 30 days.

She told them she wasn't going to change and they could just fire her during the meeting. They let her work for the 30 days, doting on her and encouraging her, really making her feel special. She was still a brat and they (rightfully) canned her.

She's incredibly surprised to be fired, unemployed and hitting the baby daddy (ex-husband) up for a temprary loan. I hope to god he told her to go fuck herself.
