I'll have to disagree, they can still work and contribute to society, look after grandchildren when retired. At the same time you don't see many 50 plus men having children either so are the no longer needed too? What do you suppose we do with such people? I really don't think you thought this through.

EDIT: I don't think anyone is in a hurry to have a society reminiscent of 'Logan's Run' (1976)

WTF does this "necessary" even mean? This is pointless crap. Human relationships go way beyond necessity. My grandma is so old and senile she can hardly take care of herself anymore. So what? She is my grandma, period.
