Women are always secretly repulsed by the men who settle for them, because underneath all the various masks they wear (aesthetic, social, emotional...), they know how worthless they are; it's impossible for them to have respect for anyone foolish enough to have respect for them.

Only through just and blatant disrespect, by seeing beneath their masks, can one earn their respect.

But of course, respect from a worm isn't worth much... so from this one can derive the universal law that respect is a one-way street between the genders -- either you're the sucker, or you aren't. There are no winners.
