Inside the world of NYC’s comedy groupies
 
On occasion I visit a comedy club for some live laughs. But now even a place of humor, where I just go for entertainment, women are on the prowl looking to ruin the laughs. Particularly post-wall women in their 30s and beyond looking to snag an up-and-coming comedian that may get a sweet tv deal or something else that is just as lucrative. Or an unlucky beta provider in the audience. Here's a sample from the article:
 

Carolyn, a 40-year-old educational researcher on the Upper West Side, also targets comedy clubs in the hopes of finding Mr. Right — whether it’s the comedian or an audience member with a sense of humor.

“It’s nice to be in a fun, funny environment to escape reality,” says Carolyn, who declined to give her last name for professional reasons.

She and her girlfriends have yet to meet their matches, though.
