Find a repeatable way to make money.

Avoid women.

That's it. Do those two things and your life will be simple. I'm 35 and I work 3-4 months a year and spend the rest of the time hanging out, travelling, playing video games, reading books, smoking weed, driving my WRX and doing anything else I want.

When given an opportunity to get something, whether its a thing you enjoy like a gaming device or a desire for self-improvement such as reading more books; ask yourself: DO YOU REALLY DESIRE IT THE MOST AND ARE YOU WILLING TO FOLLOW THROUGH? If yes, then I'd say go for it. If not, rethink it or decline and move on.

Do what you want to do with your life, dont live according to anyone else's expectations.

Keep your finances flexible, spend less than you earn, don't overspend on the big things, housing and transportation.

Travel frequently if you want, see something of the world.

Stay in good shape, eat simply, control portion sizes, exercise.

Maintenance. Maintain the quality of your assets by repairing problems immediately. It helps to be able to change your own oil or fix your own tiles. Problems can get exponentially worse quickly.

Most things you own will have an operating cost. This is something people don't consider. Have an extra suit? Well that will mean more dry cleaning costs etc. Expensive car? More expensive repairs.

Of course if money isn't an issue then go ahead an indulge. But indulge responsibly.

Keep friends who are into simple things. If they are only willing to meet you at a club where you'll burn a lot of money and time needlessly, then reconsider your friendship.

I've found the computer to be a great tool in terms of utility-to-cost ratio. I've done, and can do so much more with my computer and I spend lots of time on it. Whether it is entertainment, work, communication, studying. There's lots of tools and content you can learn for your hobbies and your career that's free on the internet and will make you more effective in the workplace.
