If you believe the biblical account of genesis then free will = sin.
Sin by definition is "doing something wrong" and free will by definition is the ability to make the wrong choice.

Well... If you want to know the biblical view, I’ll tell you.
Sin is not the same thing as free will and free will is not unlimited. Sin is when free will breaks a moral boundary.
Free will is being able to choose what you want to do, but all within the confines of a larger framework. If you choose to jump off a cliff, or eat stones, or run a spear through your belly, you’ve sinned against a natural law and the result is severe discomfort or even death.
These are natural laws, but since we are social creatures, there must also be moral laws limiting our free will vis a vis other humans.
Originally the authority to define these, ”the knowledge of good and evil”, belonged to God, and was represented by the tree in the garden. If free will was confined morally by those laws, just as it is confined physically by natural laws, the result would have been life and happiness eternally.
But by breaking the only law they had (not eating the fruit) they claimed authority to define good and evil themselves.
God had not designed man with this ability (just as man does not have the ability to fly or digest stones), but he respected mankinds free will and like a parent teaching a naughty child an important lesson by allowing it to suffer for a while from it’s own foolishness, God allowed mankind to go ahead and see what will happen if they define good and evil themselves. (For a while at least...)
The result: death, sickness, suffering, war, famine, pollution, corruption, immorality, feminism, etc.
So free will does mean you are free to choose what to do, yes, but it also means you are free to suffer the consequences of a foolish choice.
If you use your free will to jump off a cliff when you don’t have the ability to fly, you’re also free to fall to your death. It’s a sin against a natural law. And complaining about gravity restricting free will would just be stupid.
Likewise, if humans use their free will to disobey God when they lack the ability to rule themselves, they are also free to fail miserably. It’s a sin against God’s laws. And complaining about God’s laws restricting free will would just be stupid.
