The only real way is to cut them out of your life. I don't know what your experience is in Indonesia, but the best scenario is that you move overseas and get a job. If you can't and are stuck in Indonesia, I guess moving away and getting your own apartment is the best solution.

Hey man. It sounds like what you are describing is just the culture of your society. My suggestion would be to search out men in your culture/society that have been able to do what you want to do and follow their lead. Have you tried talking to your parents? You may just have to eventually put your foot down and/or just leave.

You have a sad choice my friend. If you stay you’ll be shamed to oblivion and maybe forced into a marriage even if you earn a tenth of cash that all of Indonesia makes.

If you leave you’re family will ostracize you, and Shane you, and then ignore you as they find a way to make their own finances.

Make an ultimatum: you’ll leave if they force you to marriage. Or shit talk you when your covering the bills. Once they do either you leave. If they give shit for that actually leave. Then don’t come back.

It is worse situation. The best is to move to other side of the country or far away place to build a new foundation of life for you. You should support parents but not for their extravagant life style. You should never support anyone to live the life of luxury and you should not expect undue help from anyone either. If you give more than what others need, then you are enabling bad behavior. Remember this fact very well. Anything more than basic needs and some emergency needs should be taken care by everyone by themselves by their hard or smart work. Some people get addicted to this luxury life style (financed by others) and will use shaming and manipulation and other techniques to make your conform. It is your duty to take care of yourself and you need to set right priorities on life on what you want to do in this life and keep your mind firmly focused unwavering on your priorities.

Good parents never expect undue support emotional or financial from their children. They set up firm foundation for their children to grow and thrive in the world on their own. Good children never expect undue support from their parents as well and they never expect undue support from their parents. First of all living with parents at adult age itself is not appropriate. Leave. Move on. Build a solid foundation for your life financially and mentally. Learn to be self-sufficient and self-reliant. Avoid parasitic people and don't be parasitic on others.
