Note: Just posting this to spark some brainstorming. None of this is even close to perfect/making complete sense.

So I was watching an episode of Friends some time back and it suddenly struck me how TRP would see each of these characters and it sparked a lot of other connections.

Let's dive right in shall we.

Shining light on the darker shades of the characters:

  1. Phoebe is a very lonely person: She had no family. Most of the time, she lives alone. She has a horrid past and rarely connects with any of her friends (except Joe occasionally). . Of the three girls, she is the only one who gets no romantic attention from any of the other three guys. They almost never meet up at her home. There is no change in her character and it is as if she does not mature at all (when she should be the most capable to).

  2. Rachel is a bimbo.

  3. Chandler quits his very well to do job because his wife cannot handle him being alone in an office with his assistant.

  4. Monica has already found her husband in Richard, who she never really forgets She does not marry him because he does not think too much about the idea of having kids. She never forgets. Another alternative story line which could have easily developed would be one in which she marries Richard and then divorces him. Then marries Chandler so she can use Richard's money and have her kids. She ultimately ends up as a single mother.

  5. Ross is the orbit. He spends his whole life after a bimbo seeing her as an angel that she is clearly not.

  6. Joe is the womanizer who ends up falling into the traps of the bimbo.

An Alternate Story Line:

  1. Chandler continues his job. He marries Phoebe because she is one girl who has the sense of humor that can match his. They start a great family together. Phoebe even helps him deal with issues he has with his Dad and their marriage is wonderful and they raise a set of capable children who are basically awesome.

  2. Ross listens to Emily and boycotts Rachel. Infact he moves to London with her, works at the British Museum and continues his romance with Emily into the dusk of their lives.

  3. Joe stays in touch with both his friends. Chandler uses his corporate connections to land Joe great advertisement opportunities and he continues to give a lot of women what they need. He gets a stable career and presence in the media and maybe even goes further up the ladder. He often goes to London to hang out with Ross and Emily.

  4. Monica tells Chandler that she only slept with him because she was drunk. She moves on. Ultimately finds her man who sees how hot, strong willed, well organized and loving she is. He also helps her deal with her OCD.

  5. Rachel ultimately moves back with her parents and lives on daddy's credit card. Dad finds her one more nice guy to marry. Nice guy turns rich using his in-laws fortunes and has a mistress on the side. Rachel lives as a lonely wife.
