I'm probably the only guy at work in his 30s that has his house paid for. Not even the men in their 50s are there yet

Damn I need to get my shit together, I'm lucky if I'm out of my mother's house by time I turn 30.

I just posted this... will copy and paste link. Marriage is automatic financial ruin for men these days:

Yes yes yes. I'm planning on retiring before I'm 50, and just enjoying life.
With a bitch, I'd have to work until I was dead, or thereabouts.

Yup. I'm recently MGTOW, but was previously married. Fortunately no divorce so my retirement accounts/etc are intact, but it was definitely a huge financial drain.
I've been shocked at how much I've been saving now, and early retirement is still in sight, though certainly not at age 40. If I had been MGTOW all along I probably would be retired already. Or maybe I'd be working to have something to do, but without any care for losing my job and taking any hand-raising opportunities that come along.
This isn't really the reason I'm MGTOW, but it is a nice side-benefit. If there really were NAWALTs out there I'd probably be a lot happier married to one, even for what it costs. That is just my personality (though perhaps that will change in time). However, that just isn't the reality we live in. The money is a nice consolation prize.
