I think that it was none of his business. If you let your 18 yo out and alone to the way home you are a terrible parent. By the way the story is told, I can even imagine that she lives with a single mom, I don't think a dad would leave her daughter alone at night. Why risking your life for a complete stranger? That you are not responsible for? Do you want a good story? The father of one of my relatives died because he tried to stop a fight. White knighting is always a bad idea, women decided to put them in those situations, now they pay the price. If a woman had a man beside her in the past she felt secure, now the state and white knights + manginas fill that role, and she don't even need to put out anything in exchange. I will not risk my life or health for a random woman/girl/man they are on their own like I always was, I do not expect help either.

i would do that too it is not because she is a women. I do that because I'm a human and i have some humanity left in me. when i got mugged for the first time no one is there to help me so i know that feeling it is not about the men and women it is just about being a human too me. The "nice" guy was trying to avoid any further possible legal issue he could have had for helping her... That's exactly why I would just have walked by and let those thugs molest/rape her: it's safer for me.

Absolutely not. If the story is real, those guys could have weapons, there are three of them, and she's a stranger that I care nothing about. But then again, I also live in a nice area where violent crime doesn't exist and people own cars instead of taking shitty public transportation, so hey, what do I know?
