Intro: I had a date yeasterday. I really enjoyed the thrill of the hunt and perceived the experience as pleasant. However, it probably won't lead anywhere, even though I can't remember doing any major fuck-ups. Could you help me analyze the situation and help me identify what did I do wrong, so that I and other men on this subreddit can take notes and learn from it?

day 0: Had this girl on the periphery of my social circle for the past few years. I haven't seen her in a long time though, until last monday when I spent the night partying in the city with my friends. She tagged along the whole night as well, so I got to know a little bit more about her. She currently has a boyfriend of 6 years. However, a few months ago, she has changed the relationship status into an open relationship. Her boyfriend was, of course, reluctant to agree to this change, but didn't really have much choice in the matter. Later, she has de facto confessed that she's basically staying with him only because she can freeload the rent of their apartment from him and that she's basically ready to branch swing.

"Great!", I'm telling myself, "She'll make an excellent FB!" I start to kino her lightly throughout the night, brushing my leg against her leg, etc. We're all fairly drunk and I don't remember much of the nigh. However, by the morning, I propose to meet-up the next Thursday and she agrees.

I don't text her much after that, only to arrange logistics.

day 1: We meet up at the arranged place. She's on time (actually arrives before me), which I take as a good sign. She doesn't have much make-up on, but she rarely uses it, so I take this as a neutral sign.

I take her to a semi-fancy venue with a view, sit her on a couch and sit next to her. She orders a non-alcoholic drink.

The conversation flows very naturally and I let her do most of the talking (except for a few stories to DHV). I start to kino her lightly. She gives no resistance. However, the whole time we're sitting there, she's leaning backwards/away from me. This puzzles me, but I've decided to not pay much attention to it and just escalate with the kino. The situation doesn't change - no resistance, but closed body language/backward lean. The conversation changes into very sexual topics and I kino her heavily by now (stroking tights, sides, I touch her face or ass for a brief moments). No change whatsoever - still the damned backward lean. It's all very pleasant though - she does most of the talking, constantly plays with her hair and smiles all the time. The conversation changes into the "worst kisses we've ever had" topic. I tell her that I bet that she kisses nicely while I go for a kiss. She evades it and says: "we'll, you're not going to find out tonight ;)" - with a smile.

I try to kiss her again a two more times, but she evades them both (so I just kiss her neck instead). I decide that it's time to change the venue and pay the bill with the "I'll pay the bill this time, you'll pay the next one ;)"

There's this big-ass castle in out city that has a view and a park around it, so I take her for a walk there. Romantic shit. I put my arm around her as I lead her and she puts hers around me. The conversation flows smoothly, I keep on the kino, grab her ass here and there and try to go for the kiss - which she always evades. The backward lean is present even here, except for a brief moment when she hugs me tightly. We walk around and hold hands, but I can't get past her defenses.

By now, I realize that maybe I'm just trying too hard, so I walk her home and hug her goodbye.
