The movie's plot can largely be summarized as the Protagonist is MGTOW, and over the course of the movie he gets broken down into a literal blue-piller (he starts taking medication to alter his personality) by a single mother and a gay man, neither of whom demonstrated much of any personal responsibility or sound judgment throughout the movie.

Aside from some OCD (which is really beyond his control) he's by far the most competent and stable character in the movie, yet he's perpetually treated like an asshole because he doesn't bend over backwards for the people around him. I don't think he's ever once thanked for essentially being the lynchpin for the two other character's lives improving, and the woman in particular is forced into a near-meltdown when she realizes she needs to thank the man who may have saved her son's life.

You're totally right, propaganda through and through.

Oh sure, the assessment is spot-on, but given the context in which that nugget of truth is delivered, it's clear that it's acted in such a way as if to say "what an asshole for denigrating women!". It's also delivered to a woman that's never seen again in the movie, so there's no opportunity for her to dwell on it and consider his perspective. Had he said such things to the single mother, there might have been a chance for her to ruminate on it and maybe improve as a person.

I mean, this can't be stated sufficiently, most of what people consider to be an asshole about this man stems from a clearly perceptible personality disorder, things HAVE to be a certain way with him, otherwise he can barely function. Nobody really bothers to get to know him, and without him the gay guy was looking at absolute financial ruin and the woman was looking at the prospect of forever living in the shadow of her child's mortality. It's SO telling that when the Protagonist goes well out of his way to hire an allergy specialist to do a HOME visit and suggest a basic test that she never thought to request for her son, her first reaction is to accuse him of trying to sleep with her, and then almost have a nervous breakdown trying to thank him out of what she saw as an obligation.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this is exactly the sort of movie every MGTOW should see to understand how blue pill society views people like us. More disturbingly, it shows what they want from us, to basically abandon our independence and serve people who treat us like shit, rely on us, and show complete ingratitude.

Ok, first, I see by your own commentary that there's more than enough 'social inept asshole' labeling to go around, so maybe dial the outrage a few notches down.

Second, you're subbed to r/foreveralonedating, so clearly your commitment to MGTOW isn't 100%, there's some blue-pill still left in you. You want to see a socially inept asshole or an autist? Look in a mirror.

There's nothing wrong or inaccurate with what I said, and when you tally up all the other characters in the movie, he's DEMONSTRABLY the most stable. He's not only able to maintain his own life, but he's able to help others with theirs. He's clearly not socially inept; him rubbing people the wrong way is a choice, not a lack of capacity. Maybe you would notice this if you weren't so busy trying to condemn him.

Lastly, by the way you speak, you sound like an outsider anyway, saying 'are there a lot of autists in this sub or something?', as if you didn't already know or not. I'd tell you to go fuck off to r/incels, but we all know how that turned out. Yet another migrant into greener pastures, eh?
