I agree a bit, but I think that's a small part. There's a definitely a part of power and control, but I don't think manipulation is really part of it. At one point the video maker says they have to manipulate the horse physically because they can't verbally tell them what to do and that somehow makes horse chicks "master manipulators".

Besides the most basic lesson of manipulation "if I do this, I can get you to do this" (carrot on a stick), that honestly can be picked up through osmosis, what could girls physically learn about manipulation from working with horses? Maybe just having the experience first-hand?

I posted this comment in another thread, I know quite a few horse girls and I've come up with my own thoughts for the whole girls loving horses craze:

I've heard mixed things about the sexual aspect of it. Some horsegirls will outright deny any sexuality about it (whether anonymous or in person) while others have said they've orgasmed from the movement. I think it varies person to person.

To add my own thoughts to this theory, I think biologically speaking, it makes sense that girls are attracted to horses. I've heard girls describe horses as these big, powerful, muscular, hulking beasts, and that's why they like them. When you think about it, that's what men were for millions of years, so naturally it makes sense for girls to be attracted to that. It's instinctual.

So when girls are young, horses are a socially acceptable way for them to fill this "man" role in their life, just something big, muscular, powerful. It also gives them power and complete control, a feeling that would be more difficult to achieve through other means. Power/control is much more alluring when the animal is that much bigger too. There's also the nurturing aspect that comes with horses filling this "man" role, where girls love to feed them and take care of them. Although perhaps one could say that applies to any animal.

I think this is part of the reason why people consider horsegirls crazy, they put the horse first because it fulfills the "man" role, while any SO is 2nd at best. Since a SO doesn't fill that "man" role, why get a SO at all? I think this can be attributed to the desire for social status and social pressures to have a SO, and possibly the desire to have children.

To clarify what I mean with "man" role, as I've called it, I don't think it's the role of a single man, but more of a bunch of general features that men have in a sort of abstract way, that can fulfill that role. Horses have some of these features and can fulfill that role, or at least part of it.

Disclaimers: I'm all for equal rights. This doesn't speak to every person. This is purely speculative generalizations from personal anecdotes.

Perhaps this is why the mention of the sexual aspect between horses and girls is often met with absolute disgust by the girls that deny it (beyond the puritan point of view of sexuality). If the majority of society views young girls riding horses to include an aspect of sexuality then suddenly it becomes taboo to ride horses. There goes their socially acceptable way of filling the "man" role. So any attempt of associating sexuality is viewed as an attack on them and it becomes sort of like an open secret that nobody talks about; which I think is where we are.

Or I'm completely wrong, 99% of girls really don't have any sexual aspect involved and it's just a fun hobby that they prioritize their life around. Who knows?

My ex told me that younger (age 7 to 11) she loved riding horses, because she loved the feeling of bumping (sexual arousal discovery). She also at that age loved to play with the "hanging rope" (sorry I don't know how it's called in English, it's a rope hanging besides swings, usually with knots on it to climb) by squeezing it between her tights, for the same feeling...
