You might want to read it. The comments are very telling. Some of them blame men. Hardly a word about how debt is usually assumed voluntarily.

Well there is a "common sense" comment with high upvote:

"Here is some more data: Women earned majority of doctoral degrees in 2014 for 6th straight year, and outnumber men in grad school 136 to 100. It's really not a mystery why women have more student loan debt. If this is a problem, the solution is to make less women go to grad school I guess?"

Both men and women are prone to this, although women are a bit more likely to get carried away. Also women would have less probability of paying it back due to ~~irresponsibility~~ gender pay gap.

To be honest, both private and federal lenders should not be allowed to loan more than could be reasonably paid back. But that would be difficult to implement. The education industry would be forced to cut costs. And many precious snowflakes would not get into college. We can't have that. Isn't everyone supposed to go to college now?

Scary, because these are the type of trends that lead to legislation to even out this gross inequality.

I can see it now:

"Student Loan Gender Fairness Act" - Women are burdened with more debt on average than men due to academic prejudice. This act will enact a tax to alleviate some of this unfair burden from female graduates who are forced to unfairly carry large debts simply because they are women.

tl;dr more princesses go to college for worthless degrees because they believe daddy, or some sucker will save them from their debts.

Men look at college more rationally and go towards profitable degrees, or don't go at all because they don't have someone saving them from their debts.

I read a really fucked up post the other day. This 19yo got pregnant and was going to have an abortion but her boyfriend got into an accident and lost his balls. The boyfriend is crying and pleading for her to keep the baby but she still wants to have an abortion. Basically all the comments are "gotta watch out for yourself. not your problem he cant have kids anymore."
