I work in a 100 y.o. building. I was walking down a narrow hallway and a person was bent over doing something. I was walking behind them. All the sudden this person straighten up and backed up into me. By reflex, by reflex, I put my hand on their back so they wouldn't back into me and knock me down . I said "careful". And moved on.

Now, since the person was a man it was no harm, no foul. If it was a woman, she would have gotten me fired. Just like Garrison Keillor. Fired for putting a hand on her back. I would have been unemployable. I would starve to death.
