USS Texas for those even mildly interested.

Went with it because I live in Dallas, and it really is a great photo. Almost picked the Bismark, then changed my mind back to the Texas.

I would love to go tour the Texas. I definitely will if I'm ever in her neighborhood.

Been on several warships in my life, really amazing when you consider all of the work that goes into making them, and how well they operate in some very interesting situations. The Texas has a great history, so do check it out if you ever can.

Absolutely. I might look her up some today if I have time. I've been playing World of Warships for a bit now, and the New York class was one of my fav ships to play. I'm at the Colorado now and 16inches of freedom is life.

Not much of a gamer, didn't have them when I was a kid unless you count board games, but the new stuff really is impressive and the grafics are unreal on a lot of it

even on the free games, too. WoWS is free, and with graphics turned up on it, the ships are beautiful. I also play War Thunder from time to time. They have gorgeous maps and incredible detail on the planes and tanks. That game is also free.
Anywho, thanks for sharing the Texas, I'll add her to the bucket list of ships to tour.

Are those pillar things part of the ship or just holding it in place since it's a museum now?
Just holding it in place. Can't have a battleship just floating away.
To be fair, some ships they lock down with concrete...especially if they'll never ever get to sail again.

solid. Only in this case it has the possibility to bring you down with the anchor in the water.

Ships are very complex with a many moving parts, and the anchor is just a simple device that weighs it down...

I meant when a woman divorces you. Get rid of the anchor and get a new one.

Why would any man want an anchor weighing him down when he could roam the oceans.

That's the point mate. Good job.
