And that's true most of the time. Sure it is wrapped up as shitty pop-science, but it isn't wrong. Classically, men do the courting while women are courted. After a certain amount of time, a man will offer to marry the woman and she will either accept or decline. It isn't feminist propaganda, it's historical reality.

That being said, there are two ways that women fuck up this situation.

If the guy is chad or has something that makes him a truly remarkable man (meaning he is wealthy and she is lazy) then she will do the pursuing. Occasionally, women will pursue out of spite or to simply destroy relationships. I have mentioned this before, so I will be brief. Two women that I knew in high school and a little after, they were part of my group of friends, had this kind of disgusting behavior. One girl tried to destroy a relationship between a guy and his girlfriend because he told her he wasn't interested in her. Another girl dated a really ugly dude because he had money, but tried to convince everyone it had nothing to do with it.
Cheating on their husband. Typically once you lock down a significant other as a spouse, that should be it. Of course, we all know that is not it and new studies reveal women are more likely to cheat than men. Earlier studies also indicated that when women are given anonymity they admit to cheating more frequently and having more sexual partners. Therefore, the "new studies" showing women are cheating more, aren't actually new. Rather, women are no longer demonized for being amoral whores and so they fly that flag proudly as opposed to hiding it. The take away is that women have always cheated and had the milkman's baby. However, this is a direct violation of the courter-courtee husband-wife arrangement.

So, instead of this book saying "Men Chase, Women Choose" it should say, "Men Chase, Women Choose and should stick with the man they choose instead of lying and cheating, you fucking whore. Feel bad for all the animalistic impulses of your gender and aspire to be something greater than your basal instincts."

Heard Heath Ledger's character of the Joker in "The Dark Knight" say that, and it stuck with me from that point.

It is true that many men like to chase, but when they catch what they were chasing, they quickly find out that the thing they caught wasn't worth all the effort they put into getting it.

A lot of men are starting to question whether women are worth the effort. Time to stop chasing cars that you'd end up being uninterested in once you catch them.

It is actually a lot of fun if you are good at it. I'm an ex PUA and a natural at the manipulation of it all. But at the end of the day it is unfulfilling and dangerous and the end goal is your destruction or at the very best case scenario it is severe disappointment. It just isnt worth it except in very rare circumstances for a very limited time.
