In the mid 70s when Rocky was made, society was juuuuust beginning to feel solid effects from the sex rev. It was still very much culturally and institutionally appropriate and evidentially sound to advise "the nice guy still wins in the end". Rocky (i.e. the movie and the cultural/relational messages it advocated) wasn't so much Blue Pill as it was to present the image of
"basically good guy underdog with a heart of gold, working hard and chasing his dream. If you are those things, you'll win out in the end. You might lose the battle (with Apollo) but you won the war (with Adrian) and you will live to fight Apollo another day."
In 1976, most people in the US still very much believed that message. And there was still much evidence that that message held true, for most people.
Rocky looks Blue Pill now because our nation has abandoned those ideals, totally and completely. Then, Rocky was a champ, even though he lost to Apollo. He was a champ because he truly believed in himself, in his girl, in his country, and that if he chased his dream, he'd get there eventually. Now, in 2016, 40 years later, Rock's a chump, for the reasons you stated.

Something else you missed in the movie is how Rocky deals with Adrian. He's very Red Pill with her.
He comes to the pet shop to see her, a kid sister of his friend Paulie. He is persistent and doesn't give up. He takes her ice skating, something that didn't cost much and that requires them to talk to each other and interact. He doesn't drop tons of cash on her on dinner. When he invites her in to his apartment after the date, he takes off his shirt and is wearing a wife-beater, showing off his muscled arms and torso in a relaxed hang arms over his head pose. He approaches her and literally corners her against a wall where he kisses her. He pushes past token resistance.

you forgot to mention where he tried to bargain with the guy at the ice rink to give him a discount.

The argument could be made that his persistence has some RP overtones. The problem is that it comes across as obsession, which is absolutely not RP. Maybe the date could be classified as RP. The problem is that Rocky has no Game. He's just broke. I did think about that "seduction" scene and it always felt very awkward to me. However, I struggle to identify that behavior as "Red Pill". My perception of a true RP scenario is that Adrian would have been so hot and bothered that she would have pushed him against the wall. I get it, she is not that kind of person (i.e. Not-that-kind-of-girl). But, RP is not <necessarily> dominating a woman physically, it is dominating her emotionally such that she is compelled to surrender to you. A more valid RP example is when she is trying to get frisky with him on the couch and he turns her down because he is in training. She persists and he holds firm...for a while. Until she pulls the "Fine...whatever!" bit and storms off to the kitchen. Again, our hero caves in to the pressure (i.e. Shit Test) and apologizes. Sure, we could pick apart the movie scene-by-scene. But, my realization about the overarching theme is still solid.

Rocky Balboa is also an alpha in the way he deflects shit tests and how he holds his frame at times. Read the Return Of The Kings article called 'The 4 Important Shit Tests Rocky Balboa Passed To Win Adrian'. There are awesome red pill lessons we can learn from this. The masculine growth and his training for fights is why I love him.
But I would like to say many athletes have beta personalities and are bad with money and women.

Well played sir. It's a good article and I can't argue with any of it.
