When you force some one to be self sacrificial and demonized their will to live for themselves they become quite bitter. The result is people in the world who in turn start to demand that others sacrifice for them. My wife demanded I sacrifice my rational values and believed that to be cooperation. Stripping someone of their values is not love. It's breaking them down and forcing them into your own mold.

Tolerating verbal abuse, or disrespect, from your wife isn't understanding her with your heart. It's willingly being emasculated and dehumanizing.

That's like saying that a girl gets upset when her drunk husband beats her. But a woman understand that he is fighting his inner demons.
