hmmmmmm......I think the core issue is our current technological level or a few things in particular: 1. Because of the easy access to information and ppl because of chats phones and internet a lot of women started receiving their validation on daily bases which in turn builds up a lot of confidence/illusions that they deserve better men.

2.The upbringing of a child in our days is based on consumption of products all the time. Consumption of tv programs, movies which in turn leads to less time spend with the parents dad/mom. Growing up the child learns mainly from tv programs and other children which are with the same upbringing which again leads to unhealthy unrealistic view of the child of her/himself.

Women in particular have bigger problem with this because unlike men women don't get their illusions shattered from young age or in a lot of cases in any ages. If you are a male however your illusions are shattered and you learn that the princess that you were promised in those movies that you watched when you were growing up does not exist. Granted it takes some time and 'convincing' but it happens sooner or later!
