This post is a thank you and my own story.

I work in the tech industry. I've seen what the classic path to "happiness" does to great talent.

Take my colleague John. (name changed, true story) He has two degrees from a top university and manages a team that creates awesome green field projects. He stays up most nights. Works weekends and comes in each day with an infectious energy and passion for his work. He finds a "nice girl" and within 2 years they're engaged. She's pregnant before the wedding and he whisks her away on a 1 month honeymoon around Europe. He promotes one of his staff to take his place whilst he's away. Fast forward 3 months. His job barely exists because he went away for a month and hasn't got time to catch up, meanwhile others have taken up his duties. He's up all night with the baby, he looks like shit. His team is cut in half to work on other projects. His smile, inspiration and passion are dead. He has other things to care about now... His career will stagnate from now on and he is now just concerned with getting enough money to pay for his future. The world lost another great man.

These men are my immediate management and i refuse to be promoted. I make sure i stay where i am because i love what i do. I work from home and travel often.

I found MGTOW just in time. It feels like it's a dirty secret that the traditional family path does not give happiness. After finding this out, i spoke to my father who (in private) told me i was right. He says being a father is great and he loves it, but before that he had an awesome life and would probably have been just as happy (but with more money) if he'd never had kids or been married.

Strangely my girlfriend is also ok with my choice to stay un-attached. She hates kids, but was a bit disappointed about not having a wedding.

Sometimes the social norms for a women get the better of her. She'll become bossy or argumentative but she knows i won't stand for it. "I don't want an old nagging house wife. I want a young, sexy mistress". I will not allow her treat me that way. It always turns out to be a bad day at work or an issue with her friends. We talk it out like boys do when they become men. It's almost as though she's "man'ing up". Instead of freely throwing her feelings and wishes into the world and expecting the world to bend around them. She is learning to channel them into constructive things and become a better person. She is beginning to see women for their true nature. It's amazing how confused she was the first few times i said "no" to her.

I no longer do things for the sake of being a white knight (a slave). I do exactly as much as i feel is right to do. In return she does what she feels to do as well and this turns out to be roughly a 50/50 split of work, responsibilities and finances.

We see women cut in lines, demand better service or try to use their pussy pass. It's amazing to have my girlfriend on my side instead of agreeing with some women over her partner.

I will always watch my back though. I know the "inferior" sex can be like sleeping with a lion.
