I've been checking out the MGTOW forums for the few years. And, for longer than that, I've been considering purposefully staying single. I do read a lot of anger towards women in the MGTOW forums, but I don't necessarily feel that I hate women, think that they're whores/liars, or anything like that. But, what I do always end up coming back to in my own life is that relationships tend to devolve into bickering, pressuring, and general unhappiness. I think I'm part of that equation though. And, by the time a relationship comes to an end, I'm glad that I can go back to peace and quiet...

And then, within very little time, I jump back into a relationship. In fact, I'm in one right now that is verging on becoming very serious (marriage + kids). But, again, I have that voice coming up in my head that I shouldn't do it.

A little about me

  • I grew up in a pretty disfunctional family (step-mother was VERY bitchy and my father was pretty irresponsible)
  • I can't stand complaining of any sort (this is usually only the case with family members and/or someone I'm dating)
  • Dating comes easily and naturally to me. I tend to date women that are more attractive than me.
  • I'm highly educated
  • Have a good paying job
  • I save money, invest, and spend on buy-it-for-life purchases
  • Own property
  • Live in a major city without a car
  • Keep my apartment clean and tidy
  • Physically fit
  • Can cook for myself
  • Have about 8 really good friends (men and women) and lots of acquaintances

My questions

Is it okay to go your own way if you just like quiet? Is it okay to value the ability to do whatever I want, whenever I want above having a family? How will I deal with the feeling of loneliness that pops up when I'm not in a relationship? Will I really be happy if I don't have a family?

TL;DR: I'm going through what everyone that considers going their own way probably goes through. What should I do?
