Old Joe, infamous Minister of Propaganda, could've learned a few things about social manipulations from the average twentysomething female. It is actually astounding to me how advanced their level of skill is considering they have no formal training.

Men, by comparison, are light years behind women when it comes to using language and framing techniques.

For example: a friend of mine was in an abusive relationship with a woman that routinely abused him, both physically (slapping) and emotionally. She eventually dumped him, but not before draining his bank account the night before. A week later he started getting insulting and threatening messages from various people, some of whom he had never met. The messages accused him of being "scum" and a "coward" while others threatened him with physical violence. He had no idea what was going on, so he actually wrote back to a few people and said, "What are you talking about?"

"We know what you did to Victoria," one message read. "You're sick. I hope you die before you get a chance to abuse another young woman!!"

Ah.

Basically his ex had been planning on bailing on the relationship for quite some time, and she had been prepping her friends by constantly posting about the abuse SHE was taking.

"Cried myself to sleep again. He gets soooo angry! I had to lock myself in the bathroom." Or this classic, "Accidentally saw his phone while I was doing his laundry," (she never did laundry a day in her life, but she's crafting a scene wherein she is a dutiful, albeit unappreciated domestic slave) "I saw he had been texting several girls. I don't want to believe he'd cheat on me again" (he never did, but we're crafting a powerful narrative in which she is the victim, so...) "and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm not going to be one of those jealous gf's." (again, this is brilliant fan-fiction that she is writing about her own life!)

So, after setting the stage she has her friends and family begging her to "get out" by any means necessary.

And then the day of the breakup (she left him a note on the table) she once again takes to social media to live-tweet her dramatic escape. "My heart is beating out of my chest! I'm never felt so terrified...but also I feel like I've found my voice for the first time in months. I feel like I can speak and finally be me without someone trying to tear me down."

Cue the standing ovations from her friends and family.

And then she admits that she had to take a "few dollars" from the joint account (it was all his money, she hadn't worked in seven months) to finance her dramatic escape. All of which is no perfectly justified thanks to the "victim/survivor" narrative she had been carefully crafting for months on social media.

"Do what you gotta do, girl!"

"Take as much as you need. It's the asshole tax that all assholes like your EX have to pay!"

Wow...gotta hand it to the ladies, they have totally mastered the art of framing the narrative. It's psychopathic, but brilliant.
