Hey everyone,
Just going to preface this by saying I am not an amazingly well read person, nor have I researched or reviewed every piece of MGTOW data out there. I'm just an inquisitive person on the Internet. This in fact may not be MGTOW related, I guess we will see if anyone replies.
My thought is on relationships and societal expectations of relationship durations and what a relationship "is meant to be". For those who DO seek relationships (whether with women or with men depending on sexuality) I know more recently the idea of the fuck buddy is beginning to go from a taboo to potentially something positive. Friendship that leads to physicality but not living together/roosting. This seems to be an adaptation to me of the current sexual marketplace and more factors you all already know better than I do.
The thought is what if relationships between men and women simply aren't meant to be long? What if a decade long relationship is essentially what should be "the norm" and then a pair of people should be able to amicably go their own way while still being dignified with each other? If this was a normal expectation - that all good things end - would we still have the same problems with divorce that we do?
This is probably pretty bush league and I know it could have negative impact on parenting (personal anecdote I was raised by separated parents who remained amicable. Was able to spend time with both, received guidance from both, and in that sense I was lucky/fine), but if the expectations with relationships on the whole changed from "from death do us part" to "all good things eventually end", is this catastrophic? Is it at all viable or does it have any potential merit?
I know this would infuriate tradcons, but we know tradcons are essentially the "other side" of the gynocentric coin, anyway. Not that there's anything inherenrly incorrect with the viewpoint, I'm not intending to preach good or bad. The more I learn the more it seems that for men there is no "victory" to be had, and searching for "victory" seems more like a useless diversion. So I'm trying to look beyond winning and losing, maybe this makes me ignorant - I am certainly pseudo intellectual.
I know it seems like a recipe for single motherhood but the idea is more what if, from the get go, the concept of a relationship was that it WILL end eventually, rather than "I will be here forever". Sort of like how people may change careers multiple times - that's completely fine, why not treat relations the same? Work hard have fun while in them, don't burn bridges, then move on with what you've learned.
Is this impossible because of female nature, make nature, societal needs/goals? Or do I just give the benefit of the doubt that people can be decent too easily...
Thanks for reading. Would love to hear from others - sorry if it's a case of "this gets posted every day".
