I know Slate is a feminist cesspool, but I sometimes read their version of Dear Abby for a laugh. It's like if r/relationships were a decade or so older and even more clueless.

Recently I came across one in which an alpha dude impregnated some married chick, and then 20 years later, bam, his bastard kid is engaged to his niece.

Whoops!

But on top of that, the guy is all, "Why won't she do anything to stop this?" about his baby mama. It hasn't even occurred to him that the beta husband doesn't know the kid is not his son. Married chick even hamsters away cousin marriage as being not that big a deal.

This got a hearty chuckle from me. It also got me wondering how common this must be in a small town, where there's only a handful of alphas and a ton of ladies married to Mr. Beta Bux.
