Only a problem if you use abusive language or get angry. Remaining calm while making your point is probably more annoying to these sorts of people anyway. They expect hysterics returned in kind. Arguing is as much about rattling your opponent as it is making a good point yourself.

General advice for the internet: Don't argue with anyone over any "ism" (tbh arguing over the net doesn't work anyway, if you "win" they simply stop replying, block you etc, and never actually admit they were wrong 95% of the time). They've made up their minds and a thousand facts that contradict their belief system won't change it.

It's funny how these people, despite being developers, knowing coding, etc... have no idea how the internet works. Most trolls are people who don't attach themselves to their real identity. Their facebook, twitters, etc... are either completely sanitized, unused, or in my case, non-existent. Their arguments are done with sock puppets, dummy accounts, and pseudonyms.

This type of action will only punish the random blue-pill idiot for an off-the-cuff remark or to a friend, or something taken out of context. In turn it will only cause those idiots to actually learn how to create firewalls between online and real life, and might cause people to go even deeper with TOR, VPNs, etc... In other words, they'll have created another unaccountable troll -- the thing they're trying to stop.
