I think it's a false premise to think male sluts (studs) are implicitly celebrated by everyone. They are considered selfish and degenerate by many people. Accusations of using/abusing women are flung their way all the time. And consider that thanks to the recent rape hysteria we now have an environment where these men can be criminalized extremely easily.

You (man or woman) are the end result of 3.5 billion years of things fucking, if you had things that didn't want to fuck in your biological past you'd be less likely to exist now.
In our system (homo sapiens), the woman loses mobility, ability to fend for herself, increases energy consumption, all of which increase her odds of mortality when getting pregnant. Not to mention that in and of itself, childbirth increases her mortality risk. Beyond this if the child is successfully born, it is hers beyond a shadow of a doubt and is a little parasite for some number of years. All of this is a very large burden on her as an individual. A man however has no biological commitment past orgasm.
Due to the vastly different commitments, a woman's strategy in a non-birth control world would be to hold out and have sex only with the best possible male she can find. Males, in competition for women, may take care of that problem for her by marking and defending territory and so automatically "the best man winning". But even so, her default behavior is not to give it up. Men, with no biological commitment or risk of increased mortality, their best strategy is to impregnate as many women as is possible. An alpha male among alpha males would be able to obtain and defend a harem and spread his genetics far and wide. There is an alternative strategy which is seen in primates which is to be a sneaky outsider and quickly impregnate a harem female "behind the back" of the alpha. This throws some genetic mix a wild card of sorts, into what is otherwise going to be fairly uniform based on the dominant male's characteristics. Exotic is often very sexually appealing because of this, and can result in positive results which are also directly counter to inbreeding. This kind of outsider strategy is still a "spread them far and wide" strategy on behalf of a male.

So a man who is successful at reproducing a lot basically accomplishes this because he is a genetic hero. He is not a hero because he reproduces a lot.

Furthermore in the alpha/harem situation (even a "harem" of one female) the male could choose to defend territory well through the point of raising offspring for two reasons: the female if she is genetically desirable is capable of being fertile again soon, and defending her will increase the chances of your offspring staying alive into adulthood and reproducing.

So these end up being the two strategies to maximize and spread your genetics:

obtain and defend the largest harem you can because you're the supreme top dog (dangerous to yourself because you will be challenged for your position)
if not the supreme top dog be slick enough to impregnate whenever you can and let some other male defend your offspring (dangerous to yourself because you're going to get pounded by a superior male).

Failing these:

Repeat the above with less genetically desirable females and hope for the best.

In all cases choose the most exclusive female you can possibly obtain.

The female strategy, if she is a genetic hero she will hold out and obtain the truest alpha male. Her holding out is good strategy because the alpha if he's a harem defender will know the offspring is his and not kill them or ignore them or abandon her. So, her fidelity is key to the survival of the offspring and her genetic line. Unless of course she can get away with it, which may mean sneaky sex with an outsider.

But a female who is available to all males, nobody can be assured that this is indeed their genetic lineage when she gives birth. So, it's in no male's interests to defend her and support her through childbirth and defend and support the offspring because chances the male is devoting his resources toward protecting another male's genetic lineage. Furthermore if she was a genetic hero she'd default to an alpha, so this strategy (which is no strategy at all since there is no benefit to her or to her offspring) would only be followed by a genetic loser.

So the cause and effect are just being interpreted backwards when this question is asked. Taking out all socialization and civilization, a male genetic hero is capable of impregnating a lot of women, and does, because he is a genetic hero. A female genetic hero and her offspring can fall under the aegis of a true alpha as long as she is not allowing access to everyone, so this is what she does. Both of them are just following their best interests and simple game theory for the best opportunity to continue and spread their genetic lineage.

There's actually nothing morally wrong with a slut, but a slut who wants to get married is likely engaging in deception. Men will often sleep with women of lower rank in order to get their immediate needs met and to gain experience in the bedroom. Women who are sluts and then decide to get married have likely slept with many guys of higher rank, so if she marries a guy of equal or lower rank, it's likely that he doesn't meet her expectations and and she will likely make a bad wife and cheat on him in order to get sexual satisfaction. Essentially she's a very very bad investor, and when her income can no longer support her lifestyle, the temptation to commit fraud is much greater.

Women on the other hand place a low value on monogamy relative to other traits that contribute significantly to a man's alpha status.
