For me MGTOW has always been about authenticity, being authentic to me, is the most important aspect of the self actualized man. I pulled this from an older thread because I think the poster pretty much spells out the problems I've had with red pilling in that I've never felt like I was actually being myself.
I'm one of those guys.
Now that I am older and more experienced I can tell the difference between a women who sees me as a stable reliable provider and one who is genuinely attracted to me. Almost all the womet I meet see me as the provider type. They're more attracted to my job than to me. In fact they often barely know who I am.
I don't want to go down that road again. Get established together and intertwine your lives so closely that breaking up is very costly. Then deadbedroom. You basically become room mates. All the things you used to enjoy start becoming impossible to do because this came up, or that. No thanks. Not again.
I like being able to do things now without having to negotiate simply getting through the front door. I like not having to spend my evenings performing emotional maintennance on an adult.
But I have also learnt how to 'pickup' women. How attraction works and and how to make a women want you rather than just a potential husband/provider. I know how to go and get a women and keep her sexually attracted to me so we don't just become room mates. And let me tell you, I hate being that person. To always be dominant. Deal with her constant testing decisively. To spend enormous amounts of mental energy just managing her emotionally so she always feels that attraction to you. And then be with a partner that's attracted to you, but with whom you're mentally isolated from just makes it not worth it. Plus you have to take complete renponsibility for sex.
Women are just not attracted to my natural personality. And putting on the persona they do like is exhausting, mentally isolating and turns you into an asshole.
I'd rather just be me. Honestly, the more I learn about attraction, dating and women etc, the more I think about getting a dog.
