Sometimes what's fair is not clear. I think I'd be more sympathetic to someone who gave up some of his or her own life to make mine better in old age, than my brat children who felt entitled to my fortune but neglected me. Where any family situation falls on those spectrums is going to be different, of course.

The level of entitlement people have when it comes to other people's money is insane. It is not your money. It was never your money. If someone chooses to give it to you, great, but you are owed nothing.

I don't see how you're going your own way if you're standing there with your hand out in expectation of a payday for doing nothing. If anything, that sounds like a positively female attitude.

I wish I had an opinion on this, but my dad is only leaving behind a weed bowl and some bills....now that I think about it he will probably request the bowl be buried with him. My mom on the other hand has a life insurance policy, and a couple of grand in the bank and she's leaving it all to her obnoxious shitbag boyfriend, us kids will get to pay for a funeral, and by us kids I mean me since my siblings have close to nothing between them.

My grandfather cut my dad out of the will and before he died sent him a letter telling him that he was a horrible person. The one million dollar estate was given to his brother.

My father is a dumb piece of shit who got rich after his rich asshole father died. My father has had multiple live-in girlfriends and was married twice, the second divorce was RIGHT AFTER getting his inheritance so he had to pay off my dumb ass former step mom. What little time I've hung out with him, I'm positive he's going to marry another woman and she'll get whatever he has left (which probably won't be much because my father never earned any of his wealth and is insanely irrational with it).

It's his money, not mine, and being stupid is 100% my father's right. I don't have to smile and like it though.

My grandfather is pretty much doing this to my father. My grandfather was a chemist and my grandmother was an architect. When my grandmother died, my grandfather married a woman who had never worked a day in her life and had around 8 or more children.

She cared more about status than anything else, and was attracted to the fact that my grandfather was a very highly paid chemist at dupont. Now most of his fortune will go to her family instead of our own.

Also, my grandfather is extraordinarily pussy whipped, could almost be the poster child for pussy whipped.

I inherited some land from my grand father. My father inherited a huge piece too, this is located in Chilean Patagonia. My mother got half of the house we had in Santiago. My father has a new girl, she's his age and a successful married professional. I hope he doesn't get remarried, I'm advising him not to, since she already cheated her ex husband, there's no reason it can happen again. Best case scenario, my father suppers my business as an investor and doesn't eat his land by selling it. Then Me and my brothers inherit some when he passes.
