Red pill: Coming to grips with the modern reality of unleashed hypergamy backed by the state and popular culture. Red pill usually seeks to encourage men to focus on self-improvement in order to attract mates, as well as educate men on how to identify and avoid relationship traps.

Blue pill: Believes in marriage 1.0. Unaware of female psychology and motivations. Believes what women say, rationalizes and apologizes for what women do. Doesn't take personal responsibility for failed relationships, usually due to a failure to recognize biology or the inequality in marriage contracts (for example).

MGTOW isn't a group, or even a movement (though some would disagree I'm sure). To me, it's just a collection of dudes with similar views on life. In my opinion, you can't be "mgtow" if you are married or co-habitate with your "partner." But, if you really feel you're going your own way and want to do those things, then who am I to say what you are or aren't. Basically, date if you want, get hookers if you want, but I'd advise against shacking up or marrying if you're truly interested in being your own self.

I can't speak for mgtow men in general, but for me it's a energy redirection philosophy. Men have energy and use that energy to take action to achieve some goals in life. Traditionally those goals were getting a woman, providing for her and children. But now that the dating and marriage environment is so incredibly toxic and dangerous to men, to a point where it is driving masses of men to suicide (suicide btw is part of the action nature of men - even in seeking escape, men are channeling their energy in killing themselves) mgtow is here to help men REDIRECT that masculine energy in a POSITIVE direction, towards self improvement and self actualization - without women. MGTOW is about learning to rewire your thoughts so that you can still be happy alone.

There are as many varieties of MGTOW as there are guys who identify with MGTOW. Everyone's different. I practice celibacy for spiritual purposes and find joy in that, while other MGTOW get hookers or date casually without getting in relationships, and I respect that.

What we have in common is viewing everything in life through the lens of our own autonomy and happiness as men being the most important value, and not sacrificing our freedom and happiness for women and their often selfish, reproduction-based aims. Though, I'm sure other MGTOW would state it differently.

I'll leave the red pill, blue pill, purple pill explanation to someone else. Mgtow is what it says in the name. You go your own way. There are many levels and many types. Pretty much as many people there are that follows this lifestyle is how many definitions to it. Some date and try to get laid. Some will date and even cohabitation with a woman. The common theme is no marriage. That's our gate to keep and we protect it with ferver.

I myself will just avoid the headache of dating and go straight to hookers. It is cheaper and I get laid way more often this way. Others will look down on even this and avoid contact with any and all women. Whatever you feel you need to do, go do it. That's MGTOW.

Don't date. I don't care enough. Red pill is the idea that you as a male are nothing more than an expendable asset in the field of gynocentric hypergamy. In other words, women don't actually think your spwcial, they just tell you that you are and fuck you long enough to convince that your hot stuff and that their worth your financial emotional and mental commitment. In reality, all women (99.9%) live in a fantasy land that they are trying to convince men to join them in by signing contracts that give her access to your home and income, while you the man pretend you have access to her reproductive organs at any time. In reality, she could care less about your libido or your dick and just wants a house and baby. She's not "your girl" it's simply "your turn". Don't mix the two.

Blue pill: a man who wants to be everything a woman wants will convincing himself he's make his own choices. A woman ultimate weapon is making everything she wants seem like it's the man's idea and the blue pill man are the #1 suckers. They also pretend to be manly and belittle anyone who offers an alternative lifestyle to what they have. It offends them when you are living a happy life without women and encourage others to do so. If you are happy they want you living in silence. They can't have anyone ruin their fantasy land. Their wives will get angry.

1) it's from the Matrix, truth/escape from prison = red pill, denial/return to your cell/prison = blue pill. The names have been stolen and misused on reddit so theredpill on reddit does not represent the red pill in actual real life. Instead it's just a copy of /r/pua with a more childish and angry set of moderators, and sometimes equally useful elder participants who have the wisdom of what's going on but due to distaste for the super-childish moderators, they will participate less (and do: I was one such and now I ignore it like it doesn't exist because their childish behaviour is supremely offensive)

2) if you read the last 3 months worth of posts you'll see we all do different things so some date, some don't (I don't), some pay for hookers (I sure will when it's decently affordable), some pick up at bars, and some don't care about sex at all.

For starters there's overlap between red pill philosophy and mgtow. From my point of view men have become a variation of the young males from teenage sex comedies in that they put far too much focus on getting laid and forgot how to live like men that are in control of their own future. They get taken advantage of over and over again.

Also both have the same idea on the red and blue pill. The blue pill is how things are. Accepting that men are evil and women can do no wrong (paraphrasing). Defending the status quo that's skewed everything is for females. Thinking that as long as you're a "good guy" and sacrifice your best interests for other people who aren't doing the same will eventually get you ahead. Swallowing the red pill is noticing the inequality.

Then mgtow and red pill starts to diverge. Red pill sees how everything is and profits sexually from it by playing by the unspoken "rules" society lays out, it's a sexual strategy counter to that used by women. Women are always falling for the "bad boy" right? Well start being the bad boy. They catch a ton of flack for it and are probably hated the most among this on this side of the divide, many even usually look down on MRM and MGTOW but their results speak for themselves. Even if they just get one chick and not the multiple plates they talk about they're still far ahead because they're not letting themselves get played.

Mgtow just says fuck it with the game for the most part. It's a rigged game from the start. Focus on yourself. Red pill also has the "focus on yourself" philosophy but it also plays into raising your sexual market value when MGTOW do it for a more fulfilling life.
