Was making 18$ an hour. Was single. About 1.5k expenses (bills) per month. I managed to save up money. Then i was with someone. I was also makinf 25$ an hour. My expenses were about 1.7k a month....BUT....i was having am almost impossible time saving. So expenses almost same. A bump of about 20k increase in income a year but then couldnt save. A woman was the only added factor in my story.

raising one child costs like $14K annually. so i imagine you save much more than $10K.

I think a lot of it has to do with beginning income. And added interest if you invest the "money saved" over the long period of time. Estimate $500 a month minimum for "child support" and that makes $6000 a year. Start putting that away now and let us all know how its going.
