Just watched Officer Downe last night. An unkillable cop (Kim Coates from Sons of Anarchy) wipes out an enclave assassin nuns toting machine guns (yes, you read that correctly) using an .85 magnum pistol, including one instance where he runs, drops to the floor, slides between her legs and shoots upwards causing her head to explode (you have to kind of imagine the path of the bullet).

Many reviewers gave it zero out of whatever, with some citing "misogyny".

Fiction mirrors your perception of reality. So it takes the current themes of society and amplifies and mirrors them back. This type of fiction 100 years ago where known as pot boilers because the author had a formula and cranked them out.

Authors that are famous today, initially during their time where rarely recognized. Heinlein is a case in point but he managed to attract a core following, eventually this will spill into mainstream.
