Im 28 years old, doing a job (allied health) i love but the hours arent enough due to contract/casual/ part time. Working 30hrs a week. Im on track to buy an investment property by end of 2020 and have an asset to my name. Full time is possible but most jobs are in a sector i dont want to work in. My cultural background is subcontinental and my adherence to the culture is starting to catch up- my parents want me to marry. Im open to this as arranged marriages in my experience (my brother was arranged as well as my best friends) they are working out- good balance of family and career. I told my parents that i will consider it once i sort out my finances and be more stable. My question is this- did you guys bite the bullet and found work in a field unfamiliar to you in the search for financial stability? Am i just running away from a certain responsibility of mine ( marry, have kids, continue a legacy) i want the family life but i want to focus on myself beforehand.
