You can’t win with women & everything will always change.

When I was with my ex, I was present but everything revolves around nights & sex. I hardly hung out with her in public. This went well for a long time and she liked me just being dominant and aloof. Then after certain circumstances I got closer but did become resentful and she wanted a break. I turned into the most caring and thoughtful person with my words afterwards trying my best to win her over, which made her ignore me more. They like a dominant guy who’s aloof but eventually they change their mind and want that same guy to settle down and wife em up. And realize they can’t change them so decides to move on. Getting as close to non-emotional as possible after a breakup is the best possible way to win and move on for me at least.
