I was going to stick up a snide reposte like "Women are just big girls" and report this to the mods based on the title alone, but it does seem like you're genuinely confused, and I will say that what you're talking about is real.

A lot of guys have been given the impression that turning into a man will happen by itself, kind of like growing pubes, or something.

This is not true. Men have to be mentored into manhood, by a father who is a true man, or a male relative if he loses his father.

This used to be commonly accepted. But nowadays between boys in families with no male family members, and toxic beliefs about men being spread, a lot of boys are being set adrift.

FWIW, I was blessed to have a dad who was a real man. He taught me how to do man stuff, like working on cars, and I was never exposed to the toxic anti-masculinity so many boys endure (perhaps also due to the fact we never had a TV until I was 16, YMMV.) Also, both my parents were not helicopters. I roamed in the bush, sometimes with my dad, often by myself, set my own budget for my money, and they never interfered with what I did with it, worked on a farm and drove farm equipment even before I was old enough to get a drivers license. And they never told me it was too risky. My dad just did his best to teach me the principals of safety, rather than telling me to not do things because of risk. ... too bad that kind of parent is a disappearing breed.

Note: some of your thoughts (eg. 'Women consider BB as a big boy who just want's to be a man but has no idea how') are completely wrong. May cover that if interested.

That phrase is a social convention used to make men doubt their Sexual Marketplace Value when they/we approach our peak. It makes it easier for low value post wall women to influence their men into staying in starfish relationships instead of leaving for trophy wives by having the man doubt his own Masculine growth and development.

Very accurate , before finding this sub I was 25 and had an identity crisis , I was waiting for the day where I finally felt like a man. I think I assumed it was something like a growth spurt or a new tooth coming in ... you just walk around one day TADA! You're a fucking man .

That was wrong and showed just how childish my perspective on myself and masculinity was . It wasn't until I read No More MR. NiceGuy that I for the first time in life felt like a man and ever since It has continued .

I have friends / family who are as beta as I was before finding this sub and they too show signs of being very childish in their beliefs and especially their behavior around women . Forced awkward jokes, doing things to draw attention to themselves if the woman was too interested in me or something that wasn't them . It's one of those things I notice more and never saw before becoming "unplugged"

I thinks it's kind of the opposite, men who are just big boys would still hold onto their IDGAF attitude from their younger days, they'd be fine approaching girls, teasing them, and taking them by the hand and leading them to whatever it is they feel like doing. Think of being a kid on the playground, you didn't give a fuck of how the girls acted. You just wanted to have fun and interact with them in ways that were enjoyable for both of you. If they were uninterested you found a different girl you liked, grabbed her hand and of you went. It was all easy before society told you being boisterous and masculine was bad.

Men with no respect, who fear rejection and their natural sexuality, are just women with penises.
