I live in an European country having a reputation for being pretty tradcon. In our yearly tax declaration we have the option to pass 1% of our tax to a charity of our choice. However, not just any charity - only those from a selected list which translates as Organisations of Public Benefit. Those have to be approved by the government.

So, naturally, I went looking for some good charities that help fellow men. Soon I've had my pick - one that helps men who've suffered abuse, particularly sexual, overcome their trauma. They provide anxiety support dogs to victims, among other things.

Well, apparently helping victims of sexual abuse is not public benefit in the eyes of tradcon government, because I could not find that organization on the list. So I've checked them all, and - you've guessed it - none were on the list.

I've decided to modify my approach a bit and sieve the list of Organizations of Public Benefit through some keywords. And here's the official result of who should be helped in the eyes of a tradcon government, in order of importance (each was assigned to the most relevant group):

  • Children – 755

  • Animals (in general) – 177

  • Women – 57

  • Parents – 43

  • Cats - 16

  • Women (breast cancer and breast feeding) – 10

  • Dogs – 6

  • Female – 5

  • Moms – 5

  • Boys – 5(*)

  • Male – 5(*)

  • Girls – 2

  • Moms and Dads – 1

  • Grandmas – 1

  • Grandmas and Grandpas – 1

  • Men (prostate cancer) – 2

(*) Although I've decided to not omit those, every – I repeat, every – boys' and male organization were choirs, out of which 70% were run by the church (which gets preferential treatment in tradcon society). Those are not organizations for men by any means. I am omitting those in the summary.

So, in total:

  • Children – 757

  • Animals – 199

  • Female – 80

  • Families non gendered – 45

  • Male – 2

Also, literally all of the 2 organizations that were gendered towards males and weren't choirs were prostate cancer research and support (because that's the only socially acceptable help for men in tradcon society).
