Exciting and rewarding careers to get into in your 20s?

IT Security isn't bad, and can be quite exciting after a break-in or a ransomware attack. Trying to get users to use sensible passwords is a never ending struggle. Trying to secure Web pages is never, ever dull, especially with Web developers constantly futzing with them.

If you're artistically inclined, Web page development can be fun. Doing backend stuff is interesting but less creative.

I personally prefer creating beautiful code in assembly language and Basic. That dates me, of course, but there's some truth to the old saw that you'll always love the first language you pick up.

I saw your username was about coding so I restricted myself to IT stuff.

I wish you luck, brother. I've had a good career in IT and strongly enjoyed many parts of it.

I started working in this field in my early 20’s it’s pretty easy to get in to and a lot of room to grow and many different paths within.

good job security too. I’m deemed an “essential worker” since no matter what happens ppl always need access to goods. Also once you are competent and have experience you can move to pretty much any decent sized city or market and find a job
