The other day I was thinking about history and how government used minor crises to encroach on civil liberties (relevant to my concerns for today). Women got the right to vote in 1919 and within one generation the world saw multiple fascist regimes crop up. For thousands of years not one society ever ventured that far into authoritarianism but women vote and literally one cycle later thats where humanity ends up.
