Hey brothers,

I decided to finally break out of my comfort zone and move out my parents' home. I'm about to turn 21 at the end of this month (graduated college at 19 due to doing an accelerated program in audio engineering).

I spent the last 2 years honing my skills in the ecommerce field. where I finally feel confident (financially wise) to move out. Unfortunately, this is all I've been doing and I feel like I'm lagging behind socially. I used to go out a lot in grade 12, party a lot, etc. but using TRP advice I focused on myself for the last few years and really furthered my professional skills/career.

I was wondering if you could give me some advice and/or your thoughts on moving out? Mind you I already lived in a dorm for 11 months with 4 other guys, but that was different – now I'm finally breaking off from my parents' grip. My rent isn't paid, it's all me now. Real consequences on the line, and that's exactly what I'm craving.

- Is there anything you wish you knew when you moved out for the first time? (I do not have a car)

- Any tips to make the transition as smooth as possible?

- Any financial advice to making this feasible, to finally break off from my parents?

- Any other advice at all you can provide?

I won't be telling my parents about this until I move in, so this is a huge step for me. I plan to settle the rental room, move all my stuff, and tell them after I have the majority of my belongings inside. I also won't tell them where I live, at least for now.

My parents are good people, but I've been struggling with a stomach condition and my (Soviet) parents have been really unsupportive, being the typical Russian mad men you see as the stereotype in media. They've really gone cray cray because it's a tough condition so I sleep for most of the day, have insomnia, etc. and they just don't understand and think I'm slacking. I've never heard depression/issues like these in my whole life, but this stomach condition (SIBO) is just tough, but at least I'm slowly healing.
