We are at a strange point now where it seems that something being a social construct means it is grounds for a thing to be discredited. Some social constructs are indeed negative and should be put away (male disposability, female and male circumcision etc) while some are actually for the greater good (due process, morality etc).
How did we even get here?

Slut shaming is a biological influence, not societal. Slut shaming is typically done by women against other women to deter men. We as men evolved to not want to fuck sluts/whores because we wouldn’t want to risk raising another man’s baby. Since contraceptives didn’t exist back then, having sex one time is likely to result in pregnancy. If stacy was a whore back then no one would know who the father is, thus, stacy would be considered a low value female and men would have stayed away. It’s the same concept today, most men don’t want to have kids with a whore.

Exactly. There is no biological benefit to a man being attracted to a woman who has had sex with many men. A woman who has had many partners shows she is irresponsible in regards to children and will have gotten used to higher quality men. No man desires a slut.
