Born on July 12, 1854 and died on March 14, 1932. Eastman helped to develop roll film and introduce photography into the mainstream, whereas photography was considered expensive and inaccessible to many people before. He was a noted philanthropist and donated to several institutions including MIT, the Rochester Institute of Technology and also to Tuskegee and Hampton Universities, which were black universities located in the South. He was a lifelong bachelor with no issue, and was very close to his mother. Her death greatly affected him. He spent his last years in extreme pain caused by a spinal disorder and he left this world of his own accord with the words: "To my friends, my work is done – Why wait? GE."

Cool dude.

My father lives in Rochester Ny i remember when the Kodak company was one of the main employers of the city along with Gerber, Xerox, Ragu and some other companies like St. Ides.

America used to produce quality products.

All of that stuff is gone now...pretty sad.

Philippe Kahn in June 1997 wanted a way to share photos of his baby daughter Sophie, came up with a way use a digital camera with a cell phone, founded a company and sold it in 2005 for $300 million. In 2016 Time Magazine included Kahn's first camera phone photo in their list of the 100 most influential photos of all time.
